Husker Red: Mitt Gets Better At Politics
If things like this keep up, the incredibly over-blown “war on women” that the left has been using so successfully against the right recently could very well turn back against them. This is a dumb move by Hilary Rosen, there are millions of working mothers out there that still respect those that chose (or were able to choose) to stay home and raise their kids and they aren’t going to love her painting Ann Romney as some sort of bum for choosing to be a stay-at-home mom.

The Romney campaign appears poised to score a few points off the incredibly cheap attack leveled by Hilary Rosen on Ann Romney.
I made a choice to stay home and raise five boys. Believe me, it was hard work.

He’s Right: Husker Red: End the Culture War to Save Conservatism
This is the best written analysis of what is really going on in the contraception/birth control debacle that I’ve read so far. The GOP has allowed themselves to be painted into a very unpopular corner on this, and those of us sitting at home seeing this mess unfold have been asking ourselves “What the hell are they thinking? Why don’t they call this what it is, a further intrusion of government power through mandates, instead of making noise, calling women sluts, and playing it as a purely religious issue?”. The first three months of 2012 should be a cautionary tale to the GOP of what NOT to do in the future if they want to have a real political party, capable of being anything but a source of frustration for its own members and political cartoons for its opponents, but I don’t think they’re getting the hint.

Very few people have taken the time to read the testimony of Ms. Sandra Fluke as delivered before Congress. After Rush Limbaugh made a rather solid fool of himself by calling Ms. Fluke a “slut,” most attention rightfully went his way.
I’d ask, however, that you take the time to read Fluke’s…

Husker Red: Perspectives on Rights
I thought this was well said. I grow weary of hearing people yell about “_____ should be a right!” when what they mean to say is they want something but don’t want to pay for it themselves. That sense of entitlement and lack of fiscal responsibility is part of what is driving this country in a concerning direction. That doesn’t mean that I think anything that costs money to some degree can’t be a right, and I think Huskerred did a good job trying to point out the differences.

My Tumblr friend and fellow #Politics editor Squashed has written about Conservatives and their views on political rights. His thesis seems to be something along the lines of “Conservatives think that anything which is not free cannot be a right.”
To illustrate his point, he’s provided a…
